To the Stakeholders of Tatweer Petroleum Company
On behalf of the Board of Directors I would like to welcome you to Tatweer Petroleum website and hope you have enjoyable and informative reading through it.
The Bahrain Oil Field saw the start of a new phase of development with the handover of operations from Bapco to Tatweer Petroleum on 1 December 2009. The primary goal of Tatweer is to increase oil production from the Bahrain Field and to meet the Kingdom’s gas needs, in order to energize further economic growth and prosperity in line with Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030.
The development work of Tatweer Petroleum continues to receive the full support of our wise leadership; His Majesty King Hamad Bin Isa Al-Khalifa, HRH the Prim Minister Prince Khalifa Bin Salman Al-Khalifa, HRH the Crown Prince, Prince Salman Bin Hamad Al-Khalifa.
The total Field oil & condensate production in 2010 was approximately 31,900 barrels per day (approx. 27,300 bpd black oil & 4,600 bpd condensate) was close to total Field production in 2009 of 32,200 bpd (approx. 27,500 bpd black oil & 4,700 bpd condensate). This constitutes a significant achievement for the company in terms of its ability to reverse the historical Field production decline of black oil production. In fact, I am delighted to report that Tatweer Petroleum average black oil production reached a new record of over 33,700 barrels bpd in December 2010 .This was mainly due to the implementation of the company’s development plan in addition to the introduction of Production Initiative Incentive program (PII) which indeed demonstrated great team efforts to meet the planned production exit rate.
In addition, the company succeeded in achieving the availability of non-associated gas capacity at an average of 1,500 million (mmscfd) cubic feet per day.
A key contributing factor to our successful performance in 2010 was undoubtedly the smooth integration of secondees from Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco), Occidental Petroleum Corporation and Mubadala Development Company. The establishment of Tatweer provided valuable opportunity for hiring new Bahrainis during the year. The Company’s total workforce now numbers 624 people of different nationalities and cultural backgrounds, working together in a winning partnership based on mutual respect, shared goals and teamwork.
Another key contributing factor was the fast roll out of various core applications and management support systems, which enabled the company to accomplish the planned organizational infrastructures in a very short space of time in order to meet its challenging oil and gas production targets for the year.
I take this opportunity to thank the Management and Staff of Tatweer for their tremendous efforts to work toward increasing the production of oil & gas from the Bahrain Field and for their enthusiasm to lay the necessary infrastructures and operating systems for building this new organization while maintaining a safe working environment for the employees & contractors.
